Rabbit Tug Trainer

With the one side of the pouch being a sturdy mesh it can air out. Other tugs I have had got moldy inside or had to be left open to air out. Nice product!!!?????

Bought this tug because I was searching for a trainer to use with my young, soft-mouthed border collie puppy. As will all of Salty Dog's products this tug is impeccably made and extremely sturdy (considering it uses real rabbit fur). I give 2 stars for the design, and 2 stars for the construction. I knock 1 star because I was hoping the mesh on the back of the tug would be a little softer and more pliable than it is. I want to teach my puppy to grab onto tugs with a firmer grip and she is pretty food motivated so I like the idea of the softer treats "leaking" from the tug when she grabs on. However, she seems hesitant to bite the tug sometimes and I know it's because she prefers things she can more easily sink her teeth into. I'm going to try stuffing this tug with some fleece to see if the added bulk will be easier for her. Otherwise I will just save it for when she is older and her adult teeth have finished growing in.

My dog loves it !

I bought this for my 9 month old Sheltie, Kip, who is not a strong tugger. I wanted to see if I could encourage him to tug harder. So far he loves it, particularly the bungee handle. Its a very well made toy. He can't open the velcro by himself, its too strong. That's the only downside.
